Where to stay on the Costa Blanca?

For the Winter and Spring months there is no better place to enjoy some sun kissed bike riding than the Costa Blanca. It offers an enormous variety of routes, two international airports and great accommodation. It is now the favoured training region of the best cyclists in the world, and in our opinion offers everything a cyclist might want from a destination whilst never feeling over crowded.

The Marina Alta region is the favoured region for cyclists and stretches from Altea and Albir in the south to Oliva in the North. We have accommodation options in Altea, Denia, Calpe and Oliva and a range of options to suit all budgets and aspirations. To make it easier, we have outlined our range of options.

Altea - Cap Negret Hotel

Cap Negret Hotel was conceived with cyclists in mind, the ‘bike zone’ is superb, food plentiful and the cycling support services excellent. This is why world tour teams such as Bahrain Victorious favour this hotel each winter. Furthermore, this can serve as an excellent base for Triathletes with sea access from the hotel and an excellent athletics track just a 20 minute cycle away.

Calpe - RH Ifach

A British enclave in the Summer and a cyclists haven in the Winter. This is a very popular resort for cyclists with many teams based here in the Winter and a plethora of bike shops, accommodation options and cycling themed cafe’s. The only downside to Calpe is the route out is UP, which ever way you travel. This may not be an issue for sporty riders, but for groups with a more diverse ability range it can prove challenging.

Denia - various hotels

Denia is a little further North of Calpe, but equal distance between both Alicante and Valencia airport. This town is home to a number of hotels,. including Syncrosfera and the Marriott La Sella who play host to Alpecin and Trek teams in the winter. Syncrosfera has become well known as the host of the Zwift academy and a hotel which has a number of altitude rooms which can simulate sleeping at over 2000m. Denia is a brilliant base for cyclists as it has both flat and hilly options out of town and provides a wonderful array of route options for all cyclists and ambitions. Furthermore, it has excellent bike hire options and does not feel as ‘touristy’ as some of its neighbours

Oliva - Oliva Nova Beach Resort

Just 18km to the north of Denia lies the town of Oliva, and more specifically the Oliva Nova Beach Resort. This resort plays host to Ineos Grenadiers and Visma LAB in the winter, as well as various international Football and Rugby teams. The resort is an ideal base for cyclists with two high quality accommodation options suiting different budgets. The routes from the hotel are similarly varied to those in Denia, but with a friendly at least 8km of flat riding in all directions before you hit any climbs, we believe it to be the ideal base for all cyclists - oh and the food is sensational too

Traffic free roads and varied terrain are a key feature of the reason.

For this region we have packages ready to go for up to 12 months advance. We always recommend booking early to secure the best flight prices for your group. It is so often the case that the first guest in a group will get a great price, but the last guests do not - therefore for groups of 10 or more it is definitely worth including flights in your package as it will flatten the price for the whole group.
